Join Ron Klopfanstein for an overview of journalism skills for the 21st century. This workshop is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for all.

Please note that this is the same workshop also being offered on July 10th at 6:00 pm.

In this free workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques and professional practices for gathering important and impactful information about a topic, conducting interviews with sources, taking photos and videos with a phone, and using free online tools to write, edit, synthesize content and information into a multi-media news or feature story. Then, how to promote their work using social media. Participants will have an opportunity to practice what they have learned with a fun interactive activity and will be given the opportunity to continue writing and stay engaged with the class virtually.

This free workshop is designed to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of background. No prior journalism or writing experience is required; you only need enthusiasm for writing and media. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer or a smartphone to the workshops. This is a chance to be part of a community of local independent journalists and digital content creators for networking and collaboration.
